Easter Seals Disability Services

Hi, I’m Nick Skerven of Boy Scout Troop 16, and I’m leading a volunteer effort to renovate the interior of the Holler Park Pavilion for my Eagle Scout project.

Due to the run-down condition of the pavilion, the building has not been used for activities since 2002.  You might remember visiting the pavilion during Halloween for “Haunted Holler” or for warming up before ice skating at Holler Park.

My project includes thoroughly restoring the main hall of this historic pavilion and renovating the kitchen, which will be designed to promote accessibility and accommodate the needs of the Easter Seals Kindcare members and staff.  

After the renovation of the Pavilion, Easter Seals Kindcare hopes to use the facility as a public place for picnicking, family gatherings, and special events, as well as shelter for the Holler Park pool and other outdoor programming for Easter Seals Kindcare and other organizations. 

Thanks to the energetic volunteers from Marquette University, Target of Delafield, Milwaukee County Parks, and our newest friends - the Holler Park Neighborhood Association, as well as many other friends and supporters, the work is almost complete and will be ready for all to enjoy this summer. With their help we’ve cleaned the main hall, stage and fireplace, and installed an accessible kitchen.
