Now Open!  Easter Seals Adult Day Programs in Kenosha

While Easter Seals has been facilitating day programs in the Milwaukee area for many years, we are new to the Kenosha area in terms of providing direct care.  This specific program was an opportunity to begin providing services in an inclusive environment while participants have access to numerous skill-building activities. 

It is our hope not only to serve specific needs in the area, but also to learn from this new approach in order to begin implementing fully inclusive activities and partnerships in all programs.  It is our mission to serve individuals, their families and caregivers through programming that provide access and choice, and of course, inclusion within the community.  The YMCA partnership allowed us to continue our mission, and one month has already impacted clients and families significantly.

There’s No Place Like Home at our Kenosha Adult Day Program

Fourteen participants ages 15-72 from our Easter Seals Adult Day Services in Kenosha worked on an end of summer video production of The Wizard of Oz.

The video production took a week to tape and each participant had a role in creating the production. Jonathon, a participant, was instrumental in helping the staff and other participants to know their lines and roles because he knew the original movie forward and backward.

The video was shown on August 31st to family members, friends and staff follow by refreshments of rainbow Jell-O made by the participants. There was laughter and tears from everyone since this was a DREAM COME TRUE for many of the participants.

 Quality Programming Brings Many Smiles to Kenosha

Within the first six  months of our Kenosha Adult Day Program opening, we have received many compliments on how this new service is positively affecting participants and their families.  The Easter Seals Adult Day programs have given families the confidence that their loved one is in a quality and nurturing environment and has given them opportunities to much needed respite. 

Not only are participants smiling more, but families are commenting, “I feel like a new person!  I am able to get more done during the day, and my work environment is much more positive.”   Therapists are equally impressed after observing changes in clients and are recommending this program to fellow therapists!
