Project Ability

In June, Manpower launched a national program called Project Ability to transition people with disabilities into sustainable employment with leading employers nationwide. Manpower’s Project Ability program has already enlisted several companies to commit to hiring individuals with disabilities and is collaborating with Easter Seals to bring this programming to participants at our Workforce Training Center.

This program benefits employers and employees

Project Ability is a national program that was created to find a solution to the impending talent shortage that will cause employers to look at talent pools that have traditionally gone untapped.  People with disabilities represent the largest minority in the U.S., and have recently experienced an unemployment rate of 14.7 percent, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. In addition, U.S. disability employment statistics for May 2010 revealed that 70% of people with disabilities are unemployed.

Matching the right person with the right position

A key component of Project Ability is the partnership with Easter Seals and their employee resources at their Workforce Training Center who have the access to candidates with required skill sets for this program.  Easter Seals and Manpower will provide participants on and off the job support to ensure the success of the placement.

For more information about this program and eligibility, please contact our Workforce Training Center and be sure to stay tuned for success stories that we will share with you in the upcoming months!
