Join our Early Intervention Services Manager and P.L.A.Y. Project Consultant and Speech Pathologist for an in depth interview about the complicated spectrum disorder known as Autism, and how P.L.A.Y. Project benefits children with Autism and their families.

The P.L.A.Y. Project is developed and supported by Richard Solomon MD who has had over 15 years of experience in working with young children with autistic spectrum disorders and their families.

The mission of the project is to help young children (ages 18 months-6 years old) with autistic spectrum disorders and their families obtain interventions that are:

  • Time intensive (2-3 hours per day)
  • Integrated with other therapies
  • Developmental
  • Individualized
  • Relationship-oriented

The interventions are based on the approach of Stanley Greenspan MD and his DIR (Developmental, Individualized and Relationship-oriented) model.

The P.L.A.Y. Project™ provides the following services:

  • Home based consultation
  • Individualized training for any of the child’s caregivers and family members
  • Intervention provided by a speech pathologist thoroughly trained in floortime techniques and sensory integration

The P.L.A.Y. Consultant home-based program provides home visits and uses videotape technology to give families detailed guidance about ways to implement the DIR/Floortime model at home.

The P.L.A.Y. Project respects the child in his/her development with constant assessment and intervention that help the child develop social, language, and play skills.
